Tradesteady Algo – How to Use
From sign-in to your first automated order. Last updated: October 2026.
1. Sign in
- Open tradesteadyalgo.com/login, enter your email and click Send Verification Code.
- Enter the 6-digit code from your email. There is no password, and a new email creates your account.
- You land on Home, which shows a setup checklist for the steps below.
2. Choose live or paper
- Live: click Start trial on Home for a 7-day free trial of TradingView Automation (1 webhook, 3 routes), or subscribe in the Store.
- Paper (free): click Turn on in the paper trading banner on Home. Paper routes work on Binance, Bybit, Delta Exchange, Fyers and Dhan with no API keys and no real money.
3. Create a webhook
- Open Automations → Webhooks & routes and click New webhook.
- Click Copy URL: this is the address you paste into your TradingView alert in step 5.
- Optional: add a secret token. Alerts must then be JSON with a
"secret" field, and anything without it is rejected.
4. Add a route
On the webhook, click + Add route and choose where its trades go:
- Crypto exchange (Binance, Bybit, OKX, KuCoin, BitMEX, Delta Exchange, Delta Exchange India): paste an API key and secret. Create the key with trading permission only, never withdrawals. Or tick Paper Trading on Binance, Bybit or Delta and skip the keys.
- Indian broker (Zerodha, Dhan, Fyers, Angel One, Upstox, Groww, Alice Blue, Shoonya): enter the API details the form asks for; brokers that need a daily login have a login button on the route. Live orders need a static IP whitelisted with your broker (SEBI rules): buy one in the Store, or use your own under Use my own static IP (advanced). Dhan and Fyers routes can also be paper.
- MetaTrader Direct: enter your MT5 login, password and server once. We hold the session and place the orders, so there is nothing to install.
- MetaTrader (EA on your terminal): enter your MT5 account number, then install our EA by following the MT5 setup page.
- Telegram or Discord: notifications only, no orders.
Set the route’s quantity, stop-loss, take-profit and trailing stop, then click Test on the route to check the keys or the MT5 connection. One webhook can have several routes, and every alert goes to all of them unless the message names one with R=.
5. Create the TradingView alert
- You need a paid TradingView plan (Essential or higher) with two-factor authentication turned on; the free plan can’t send webhooks.
- On your chart click Alert, set the condition (your strategy or indicator), and under Notifications tick Webhook URL and paste your URL.
- In Message, put one line Tradesteady understands. Click Alert message on your route, or use Automations → Alert message builder, to get one ready to copy.
| You want | Message |
| Indicator alert, fixed size | Buy BTCUSDT Q=0.01 SL=2% TP=5% |
| Strategy alert, size from the strategy | {{strategy.order.action}} {{ticker}} Q={{strategy.order.contracts}} |
| Close a position | Close XAUUSD |
| Send to one route only | Buy XAUUSD Q=0.1 R=MT5 |
All formats, including JSON: Alert formats.
6. Check what happened
- Alert log shows every alert we received and what each route did with it, including the broker’s reply.
- The same alert sent twice within 5 seconds is skipped as a duplicate.
- Paper orders appear under Paper trading, where you can close positions and see P&L.
